It's been a while since I have visited with you all. Last week I had all kinds of posts I was going to share with you. I was going to show you how beautiful my yard is in the Spring.....especially since you usually see pictures of these very same trees covered in snow.
For one week every Spring, this part of my yard looks like something in a fairytale......so beautiful.
I was going to tell you about my son pitching in a local wooden bat league and how I used to dread when he would pitch when he was a young boy. Not because he was bad, but I remembered those long innings when a pitcher would not be able to get out of an inning......and they would be on the verge of tears. Those were long rides home after a game..........just sayin'
I was going to tell you about our Robins and how 3 of them flew out of the nest when Ashley and I went to check on them one day....and how one little baby remained.....for days.....and how I worried about it. Then the rains started and she was gone. I was going to tell you how sad I am when my little ones fly off, but how happy I am that they are big enough to enjoy their freedom....and how I enjoy trying to figure out which ones they might be as I am sipping a glass of wine in the evening after dinner, knitting and watching the birds who live in our yard.
But then..................
I got sick.....
I.C.K....
Swine flu....I don't think so, but ugh some nasty stomach bug came to visit and I lost any ambition that I might have had to sit behind the computer.
So....instead I just slept on the couch and dabbled with a little spinning here and there.....and this is what I came up with.
A beautiful fingering weight blend of Icelandic lamb and alpaca from Frelsi Farm. This was one of the very few things that I purchased as SPA this year.....and it was a joy to spin. I have a little over 500 yards, so I'm thinking it will probably want to be a small shawl. :)
Now that I am feeling somewhat better, I will try to be a little more diligent in getting my posts up. There are lots of new things going on. Square foot gardening....working on studio space....bunnies.....and a few other things... ;).
Until then......have a wonderful weekend in your corner of the world!

Sounds like that was a busy week. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

Good to hear you're recovered, just in time for this weekend. You'll love SAW at R/D camp. We've stayed there several times over the years and usually like to keep it a secet. Guess the word's out. Enjoy!

Glad to hear you are doing better. Spring is such a great time to be out and doing, it's not much fun when you are stuck inside feeling poorly!

Your yard is so pretty! Now that you're feeling better I hope you can sit outside and enjoy it. Hopefully there are still a few blossoms left.

Oooh, I'm glad you feel better. You know, that bug is definitely going around. I had it, and two more people I know have had it. You might recall that we're in Maine, so the bug is definitely marching around. The trees look so pretty.

The trees look so much differnt with blooms instead of snow! Very colorful! Getting sick is not wonderful so it's great you are feeling better. We have worried over baby birds we found at the bottom of our little tree in the front yard. We would pick them up and put them back in the nest and hope mom or dad would continue to feed them. It's the mother in us! Can't help but worry about babies. Lovely yarn. I have done spinning in a very long time. I really need to do some soon.

I am glad that you are doing better. I was beginning to wonder if something was wrong! The trees are beautiful and my blue bird babies flew away this week too...it was sad to see them go.

You were missed and it's so good to hear you're feeling better. It sounds like you fit a lot into the week despite the tummy yuk. Stay well, friend!
