Put a few pounds on this body. Some of you know that I have been working hard to lose some weight.....so far I have taken off 26 pounds and I can tell you that it has been a good thing.
Last year when I went to the doctor for a physical my sugar was up a bit and coming from a family history of type II diabetes, I knew it was time to do something about the extra weight I have been carrying around or face the unpleasant consequences. Having seen a friend this summer who had dropped a significant amount of weight on the south beach diet, I decided to give it a try, especially since it works well for someone facing diabetes.
The holidays have definitely been a bit of a challenge though for sure! I sailed thru Thanksgiving without gaining nary a pound, but Christmas and all of it's goodness snagged me a bit. Thankfully since Thanksgiving I have only put 3 pounds on, but now it's time to get serious again and loose those last 25 (plus 3).
The other day Kathy and I were discussing how much we love our fatbaby boots and how much we liked this black and white version. Somehow the topic of weight loss incentive crept into the conversation. Both of us wanting to take off 25 pounds decided that these boots would be the perfect half way reward. So as of today, I am back on track and looking forward to a new pair of dress boots!

What a great way to reward yourself! Keep on going!

Those boots are beautiful! I might have to make the same resolution... I have 28 pounds to lose and I come from a family where every overweight member has type 2 diabetes. I'm using sparkpeople to track my progress and am considering the Zone and Southbeach.

Only 3 pounds during Christmas is incredible - Congratulations! Those boots sure are a nice incentive to lose the remainder of the weight; I've got to find myself a little incentive.

Kim- That's a terrific (non food related) incentive. I have to get back on the weight loss thing- only because I feel so much better when I eat properly.

Good for you to be working toward your goal. I need to lose some weight, too. :(

Congrats on the weight loss and what a great incentive! I'll be joining you on the weight loss bandwagon in 2009, only my incentive will be your yarn!!

Great incentive! Good luck - I'm sure that now that the pigging-out holidays are over, you'll do well.

Love my Fatbabies and Oh how I would love a new pair. There are so many fun color combinations it is hard to choose. I could stand to lose a few pounds, maybe I should make that my reward too. You go girl!

Be very careful. That girl is quite the enabler. Aren't those boots comfortable? Love em.

You go, girl! Wish I could get Chubby Hubby on something, sigh....boots wouldn't do it for him, though.

That's a great color combo that I hadn't seen yet!

Well, have the same goal here. Need to get rid of the excess that has crept on over the years. I like the idea of a goal and reward system...don't really need the boots but will see what I can come up with!! Good luck, I will be rooting for you.

That is a good incentive! Feeling good is the best incentive and you know you can do it. I know it too!

A bit of incentive is always a fun thing. Congrats on good progress so far!

OMG another Ariat fan! There is nothing I'd work harder to attain than another pair of their boots.
Good luck to you and rock on with those Fatbabies!

And when we hit the full target, I'm buying the red ones!!

I do love those boots. And I'll love being lighter!

Congratulations and good for you! Those boots are a wonderful 1/2 way reward. I'm looking at the same issue for my 2008, needing to trim down some pounds and avoid the sugar monster lurking over my shoulder (had gestational diabetes... so type 2 is hot on my heels if I'm not careful).
May 2009 see many of us healthier and trimmer and in great boots!
