New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival

Woolybun_roving

Another New Hampshire Sheep and Wool Festival has come and gone.  The weather was picture perfect and spending time with good friends was as magical as ever.

Now, one thing you are not going to see on my blog this year is pictures of those friends because I didn't take my camera with me.  Learning to use the new camera is like trying to learn how to ride a bike again.  I am sure that you will see a bunch of pictures over the next few days however.....the grrls were in rare photography form..LOL!

Woolybuns_fiber_2 As we have been tearing apart my barn in preparation for the Studio that Ken is building for me, I was ever mindful of how much fiber I have stashed in there, so I resisted the temptation to by too much fiber.

The only stuff that did come home with me were these 2 lovely angora blends from Chris.  Yes...you read that right...angora...and yes, I have a barn full of angora, but these are ready to sit and be spun and oh so beautiful!  The only other purchases were some yummy dressings and a beautiful gift from Ken for Mother's Day.

Dressings I met up with the grrls for lunch, but for the rest of the festival, Ken and I took our time enjoying the weather and our day away from home.  At one point, he told me he felt bad, thinking I would rather be with my friends as I don't see them that often.

Silly man.......what he doesn't realize is that I treasure the time that we get to spend alone even more.  Having 5 children, well, you can well imagine how that goes.  We spent a number of years attending the festival was with a child in tow complaining each step of the way how boring it was.  I have to admit that i have enjoyed the childless trips a bit more :-)

All in all it was a fabulous day out!  A grrl needs that every now and then. :-)

I didn't realize you had five! Wow. :-)

And I think you chose your purchases very wisely. After all, you know a lot about angora, so you can identify the good stuff straight away. :-)

Sounds like a perfect way to spend the day...and lucky you, getting to spend the day with sheep, wool AND your husband!

Kim- Just getting out and spending time together is great. I have 2 teens, and I can't imagine having 5. It boggles the mind.

You have five kids??? No wonder you spin!! It sounds as though you had a good time. The camera seems to be doing its job. Oh, and you have fiber in your barn?? Oh, my! No mice? That was my first thought! They would love that! I can't wait to see what you make with the angora.

We were in rare photography form this weekend weren't we?! Haha! I got some good pictures, but I'm going to spare you the one I got of you and Ken, it doesn't do you justice at all.

It sounds like it was a perfect day - and how nice to have a sweet guy to share it with :-) (hats off to your hubby!)

Oohhh... it looks so soft.

How sweet of you two to still enjoy spending time together even after 5 kids!

It sounds like you had a really nice time. I for one would dive right into those piles of angora!

Aw, that's so sweet! Time alone with hubby certainly is precious. Glad you had such a nice time.

Hi Kim
I thought for some reason you would be a vendor at the festival so was looking for you! It totally went over my head you were only attending! It was my first and I LOVED it! Will you be at Fryeburg again in the fall?

I saw your wave a you passed by.. sorry I didn't get more of a chance to say hi. Sounds like you had a great day.

You buying fiber from me is a very nice compliment, ya know? I look forward to seeing what you do with them!

It was so good to see you. Chris' stuff was irresistible!

I know exactly what you mean about the time alone! I was so lucky to get time with my grrlfriends and time alone with my husband this weekend. Hooray!

I can easily see how that angora blend came home with you. Gorgeous!

Sounds like fun. Would love to experience a fiber festival one of these days! Glad you had a good time and found something that had to come home with you!

Great seeing you as always! I can't believe that I missed Chris' booth completely! Her angora blends are yummy. Love those colors.

How wonderful the weather was perfect, the company (both grrls and your hubby) was perfect and the fiber fabulous!

It was great to see you and meet Ken. Glad you guys had some quality time, even if it meant we had to miss out!
