Gretel....

Gretel

Most of you know how much I hate having my picture taken, but I have to tell you that I just LOVE, LOVE, love this hat! I love it enough that I wanted to show you what a great pattern it is!  For any of you contemplating knitting this hat.....get those needles out!

Gretel_back_3 I was a bit concerned that I was not going to have enough yarn, so I skipped a few of the knit in pattern rows, but once finished, I probably could have knit them, as I had about 20 yards of yarn left over.

This is the first time that I have ever spun and knit with BFL and I am a new convert....it is THE BEST!  Soft, not scratchy and very cushy!

Pattern: Gretel
Yarn:  Handspun BFL from Gales's Art in the Darkside Iris Colorway
Needles:  US 4 and 7

Aw, Kim - we all hate our own picture, but really, you look very pretty. Love the hat - I bought the pattern and have it planned for some handspun.

It looks wonderful on you! I just finished her Urchin pattern, and it came out too small for me. I may have to try this one now. Thanks for the link to the tubular cast on video as well. Your snow pictures are lovely!

Absolutely Beautiful! You just inspired me to make one of these:) And I just happen to have some awesome organic yarn ready and waiting - Yay!

It's about perfect!

it looks great . . i love the rich colors against your fair hair and complexion. it does look nice and cushy.

Looks good! Hats and I are usually not friendly...maybe this one would work! Ha! Ha! Was the knitting your stress relief during the game last night...it sure was wild.

Lovely photo up there! That is a very flattering hat shape for you ... love it.

I can never find a hat that looks good on me--maybe I'll try this one!
