Okay.......well maybe not a flower in the sense of what we know to be a flower, but these Orchid Mitts rank right up there as a thing of beauty. I test knit this pattern for Anne last week. They would have been finished sooner, but my workload in my real job was heavy this week.
Pattern: Orchid Mitts
Yarn: My hand~dyed merino/silk blend (I plan to carry this later in the fall)
Needles: Knitpicks size 2.5mm (pattern calls for US 2's, but I knit loose)
Perhaps not as Sexy as Anne's...heehee, (my model is 12).
These lovely mitts made their debut in my slow, but growing garden. While the rest of the country has suffered crazy hot temps, the weather up here in Northern New England has been quite cool, especially at night. Hmmm........I'm seeing fried green tomatoes in our furure....<grin>

Lovely! Elegant and warm too -fingerless mitts are far less fiddly than fingerless gloves. I must add a pair to my 'things to knit' list!

oh, and 10 days ago i thought our tomatoes would never ripen either, and that we'd be really low on puree over the winter . .. . now i'm drowning in them!

Perfect yarn and pattern together! I really like how the lacey-ness is not around the thumb gusset where it would get stretched out. Beautiful.
