Last week I saw a new shawl that Anne created on her blog. The name of the shawl is Morning Glory and oh my.......I fell hard for it. It is stunning! I went digging thru my stash to see if I had something that would compliment the pattern, but nothing jumped out at me, so I turned to the dyepots.
I had been dyeing up various merino/silk rovings for the sheepfest, so I played with some colors and this is what I came up with......Serendipity! I love it in the roving......I can't wait to see how the yarn turns out.
Finally....Spring in the Mountains!
Yesterday the temperatures were in the 70's here. The day was glorious, so Ken and I went for a ride.
Even though almost all of the snow in my yard has melted, there is still quite a bit on the mountain.
Looking down at the river from where I was snapping pictures however, I noticed just how much errosion the last bunch of storms did to the river banks. Many of the roads that we traveled on in Jackson had bright orange cones warning motorists of the deep ruts on the sides of the roads. Some of those ruts were close to 6 feet deep....YIKES! Hopefully Mother Nature has calmed down a bit and we have seen the worst of the spring rains (and snows).
I have to agree with everyone. It is a beautiful colour combination. I would love some too! It inspires me to pull out the wheel and spin. Well done. You are clever.

that roving is so lovely! I, too, was captivated by Anne's shawl (and hope to begin one very soon!) Morning Glory shawl will be divine in those colors.

I am in love with Anne's new pattern as well. It will have towait but it will get knitted one day. Can't wait to see how you work it up. And here's to calmer weather for a bit.

It's all I can do to not reach in and grab that from you. LOVE IT! It's going to be a fabulous shawl.
It's still snowing in our mountains. 6 more inches today! At least it's spring in the valley.

She does SUCH beautiful work, doesn't she? I can't wait to see what she does with the bee/harvest shawl. The Morning Glory shawl should work up beautifully in the colors you dyed!

Nice play of color! I saw Anne's shawl and fell hard too! Wee seem to have the same taste in things:) I ordered my copy and will be saving it for just the right yarn too:) I have couple of things on the needles now that I need to finish.
