wool winder

All beautiful stuff! I'm sure I'm exposing my ignorance, but please explain the wooden comb in the first picture. I've never seen one before.

It sure feels like it's time to move the TV off the wood stove and back to the dining area. 38 yesterday morn.

Sure, I'm excited for fall. But I still hate to see summer go.

I love autumn too, although we haven't really had much more than a hint of it. The angora silk triangle scarf looks beautiful!

Love the look of the triangle shawl on the table loom. I have a harness loom but haven't woven in eons. The triangle loom looks intriguing.

Oh, I'm the same way. I know Spring is supposed to be the time of rebirth, but Autumn is what does it for me. I so look forward to my wood stove! And we love winter food so much more than summer food. The feel of the air, and the leaves, and everything! You put it really well.

And I love those pictures of the heron. That must have been so thrilling!

And - yes, what IS that forky thing? It looks like a weaving thing to me, like a portable beater . . .

I have to echo the question above.. I think it's something to do with wool preparation for spinning, but that's a pretty wild guess!

I'll be taking my Rogue hoodie with me up to the cabin this weekend to finish seaming it. Now that the nights are cooler, I can't wait to have it finished so I can wear it! The other project heading north is a Blackberry Ridge sweater kit I got for Christmas last year. I'm hoping to squeeze it in before I have to start buckling down on the holiday knitting!

ok, what I want to know is what that wooden forky-looking thingy is in your top photo. Sure is pretty, and I think I need to get one. Just don't know what it is or what it's used for.
